Nocturna
At N o c t u r n a__heksebål we invite you to the rites of passage where music and trans, magick and art come together to create a safer space for celebration. We want to dance and whisper desires, we want to cast spells and indulge in uncanny rituals.
Our concept for the party is inspired by a Slavic tradition called "Dziady" - a pagan, pre-Christian ritual practised by Slavic peoples, especially in Poland and Belarus. It was held around November 1st, later colonised by the Catholic Church and called All Saints' Day. It was meant as a gathering of the locals around the time of the autumn harvest, where people would honour the spirits of the dead. Those who were alive were practising rituals in order to connect with those who passed away. Sometimes the dead force those who are alive to perform certain tasks and duties, sometimes they move objects, furthermore sometimes they want us to dance at night long parties. It is an act of mutual care and generosity. In witches words it is a GIFT from otherly spaces.
Unlike Halloween's focus on fear and ghouls, Dziady is a solemn, spiritual time for reflection, communion with ancestors, and honouring the natural cycle of life and death. The event will be choreographed as a community gathering, where artists and witches merge the border between realms. We want to celebrate the darkness and create an environment for queer magick to unfold a variety of portals where you, as our guest, is invited to our magick making.
We aim to create a safer space for our community. Entering the event equal respect for gender, sex, race and bodily diversity and uncanniness. Any acts of violating the code of rules won't be tolerated.

This night will seamlessly blend different elements of Slavic traditions, pagan spirituality, and modern electronic music culture. This fusion makes spirituality and ritual, much like music, transcend borders and bring people together. By merging traditional Dziady rituals with cutting-edge music and modern pagan aesthetics, we create a space where ancestral wisdom meets contemporary expression.
“We want to talk the darkness that begins at the border of the words.
We want to trigger the movement of speaking as becoming,
gathering as mapping the tensions of togetherness,
shapeshifting as researching.
We want your darkness to become our lightness
We want your sadness to become our joyfulness”
